Sun Tzu, I have read your many posts and your passion for peace is admirable. Having lived through the Viet Nam era, I saw many things. I saw peace demonstrators try to change the will of government military action. I saw in the media the many many dead and wounded brave american soldiers as well as the dead and wounded vietnamese people. What did I learn as an American Citizen from that period of time as well as the subsequent actions during the Gulf War and subsequent actions in Bosnia, Grenada, Libya and Panama. I learned this: it is impossible for peace activists to make much of a difference other than making themselves feel better in some occassions. Some felt worst after being arrested and were scared for life. Employers in the US don't want problem people with an arrest record. Sure there is freedom of speech in the US, but there is a silent bias against those that create problems.

I am not sure if you are living in the US or are in Canada as your profile shows schooling in Ontario. I know Canada well. I suspect that if you are in the US you will be a very unhappy person now and in the future. The US is as you can see more determined to resolve the Iraq issue through force. Canada decided not to participate in this military action. If you left Canada for the US, based on how you feel, you probable made a big mistake in your life. Have you ever heard the phrase "pissing against the wind"? You are "pissing against the wind". Just something to think about. Maybe I am right. Maybe I am wrong. Only a deep look into what you are made of can give you that answer.
