The figure of 1 million includes Iraqis (soldiers and civilians) who died in the Gulf War and the Iran/Iraq war. I'm not sure if it includes Iraqis who died as a result of sanctions. The rate at which 1 million dead occurred over the time since saddam became leader of Iraq is just over 4/hr. bush is being much more efficient than saddam was at killing Iraqis. Considering the war is illegal, bush may also end up killing Americans at a greater rate than saddam killed iraqis.
