Not only did Cheney say that we needed to build a new power plant a week for the next ten years, they should preferably be coal. That wasn't enough he had to finish it off with his condescending remarks about conservation making any difference in resolving his energy "crisis". Totally wrong on all accounts, but the Cheney and the "liberal" media seem to have amnesia about the Cheney/Bush energy policy derived from the secret meetings with their energy experts. You know, the ones like Bush's best friend Kenny Lay, who created the shortage in California, and then reaped huge profits?

It turns out that Californians bought energy efficient appliances and compact fluorescent lights and dramatically reduced the need for electricity. The biggest increase in new electric generation is coming from wind farms, DESPITE Cheney's love of coal plants, while fossil fuel plants are being cancelled.

Cheney was dead wrong, and so are the Limbaugh educated wrong wingers on this site that ridiculed wind power when I brought it up as an energy solution before.
