American firms which could, in turn then, sub-contract work to non-US firms. After having their country wrecked by US bombing and ten years of sanctions, the Iraqis will be now forced to pay US firms to rebuild everything. Iraqi oil may belong to the Iraqis but the MONEY from Iraqi oil certainly won't. The real hands on labor will likely be done by many Iraqis at very, very low wages. A kind of chattel slavery to go along with their "liberation".
