I, quite obviously, see your bolding, but the not bolded portions suggested a growing parliamentary power, a great many conflicts between the legislature and Kaiser.
Granted.. because I, and most people, believe that democracy is the preferred governmental system by which people wish to be governed, when given the opportunity.
But Wilson "drove the stake" in the heart of the Imperial German Empire. And you must ask yourself if doing so was a form of imposing change upon that governmental entity. IOW, meddling in the internal affairs of another state.
How many times have various states been accused of undermining the existing regime, preferring to deal with more palatable political, or ideological, entities in respective governments?? All of this is a form of imposing our values upon others. And unless you're ashamed of our democratic values, and prefer supported despotic tyrannies, it should be our choice we wish to associate and negotiate with.
