John Kerry is craggily handsome, I agree. Very presidential looking. A lot of people are starting to call him Honest Abe. Without the beard of course. Also tall, lean, craggy, honest and great. John at 59 is still a tremendous athlete. He is whipcord strong, like Clint Eastwood. Still does extreme windsurfering, skiing, full-contact hockey, marathons, rides a Harley, sky-dives and could kick GW's butt with one hand tied behind his back. But he's also a great guy, very warm and friendly. If you met him you'd feel ashamed for making such a statement.
Looks do matter in a presidential election. Gore-Lieberman were lacking. Cheney was too but Bush came off as looking better in a outdoorsy way. Kerry-Edwards will be the best-looking ticket in history. Of course looks aren't everything. But in a country with a good percentage of shallow ingoramuses, they can be a deciding factor. |
