Ed here is what's on First Call:

"We are reiterating our short-term buy rating on Amati Communications and raising our long-term opinion from hold to buy. The sorting out process in the ADSL market has begun to occur, as evidenced by recent investment, acquisition and consolidation. Our original decision to cover Amati was based on upon (yes, I am typing as is with the mistakes) the belief that the company had a strong technology base in xDSL. This continues to be the case and acquisition activity in the area is likely to accelerate over the next 12 months. This should benefit Amati psychologically since the company is an attractive buyout candidate. Absent this, we still think carrier customer news will support a higher stock price in the months ahead."
