Right. It would be interesting what other people are doing to protect themselves.

I have tried to put some protection in place on both fronts. Have been buying foreign government debt, own some metal and commodity stocks (which could not work as well as owning the metals), and rolling short term debt.

Until things become more clear I can not think of anything else to do.

I do not know if the debt burdened has been eased. We have seen large increases in debt from Corporations (GE is a good example), Governments and citizens buying houses.

You could be right that destruction a.k.a. bankruptcies are out striping creation. The airline bankruptcies should cause large destruction of debt and even Greenspan would have to work overtime to replace this. <g>
