Hi Marty,

I am finally replying to your message. Sorry for the delay.

Don't worry about your "Fire, aim, ready" technique. That's sometimes the most fun way to do research. Did you figure out which brand you got? Did you find it on the virtual pet farm page (I think the link was posted here earlier and I know it's on Truman's excellent Playmates thread. I wouldn't discount Playmate yet. Event though they are small, they are a very strong company with a lot of good operating history. While looking through my Star Trek toys after the flood (thanks to my parents for saving them all), I took a look at the brand names on the cartons. Playmates was pretty common, as well as Galoob (my personal favorite toy company). I hope Bandai gets some good results from its support of the new professional soccer league here in the states and from it's other products. Anyone know how Beetle Borgs are selling? I see them in the local stores every once in a while.

Where have you heard that Tamagotchis were selling for $25-30?!? I have seen web pages and Usenet postings where people are trying to sell them for really high prices as collectors' items, but Toys R Us and Kay Bee Toys have been good about keeping the low retail price even though I am sure they could get more for them.

I'm not sure why we never see trading volume for BNDCY in the States. It looks to me like the ADR price gets updated once a day, some time in the middle of the night. There must be some trading in the ADR even though we never see the volume info. I also think that the price is affected not only by trading of the real shares in Japan, but by curreny fluctuations and other weird things. The only reason I can think that someone would sell Bandai now is if they were hoping for a quick gain and are now moving onto other companies since the gain doesn't seem to be coming any time soon. That's their choice. I am going to hold on for a while and see what effect the next few earnings reports have on the price.

Thanks again for all your research and opinions about this company!

Take care,

Kirk
