The United States is investigating 62 of the cases, 55 of which involve people who traveled to affected areas. Five are household members or friends of suspected cases, and two are health workers, Dr. Gerberding said.
C.D.C. and W.H.O. officials continue to say that it takes close, sustained contact with an infected individual to transmit SARS through droplets expelled through coughs.
Because known coronaviruses can survive in the environment for up to three hours, health officials are also concerned about the possibility that SARS could be transmitted through contaminated objects.

Be glad if you don't work in a company that has an elevator (the elevator is how they suspect the disease may have spread). I think stylish gloves should come back into fashion.
At our startup, we are lucky enough to have our door always opened, so nice fresh air enters. Probably the only company in the Valley that gets nice, outdoor fresh air all year round. I never understood why companies choose A/C over fresh air. In 1994, the airline industry started recycling their air inside planes (rather than getting fresh air from the outside, in order to save gas $) - and then they wonder why colds spread through planes.
