Another neocon organization that pulls on bush's strings is the AEI. Perle is a member of this one too. In their "annual report" it is clear that a war against Iran is on the drawing board.

The awesome power of a free society committed to a single mission is something [our enemies] cannot imagine. . . . Our unexpectedly quick and impressive victory in Afghanistan is a prelude to a much broader war, which will in all likelihood transform the Middle East for at least a generation, and reshape the politics of many older countries around the world."
--Michael A. Ledeen, from The War against the Terror Masters

"If President Bush follows his own logic and compels his administration to follow him against Iraq and Iran, then he will sow the seeds for a new, safer, more liberal order in the Middle East. If America can hold its ground, two Muslim peoples who were badly burned by the twentieth century just might lead the way for their religious brethren to a more civil society, where the basic human decency their countries knew a century ago could return. That would be the proper and just end to America's war on terrorism."
--Reuel Marc Gerecht

The reasoning behind all this crap is crashing down around itself as 75%+ of the world population is not at all comfortable with it.
Is war in the ME "for at least a generation" a noble aspiration?
