I read a story that the CIA had warned the emperor that there would be a resistance movement, and that he would have no part of it. "Oh, yeah, they be gonna greet us with dancing in the streets". Shit. Not only is this thing the easily foreseeable Pan Arab/Pan Moslem war, but these guys are being invaded. Their country is being raped. Of course they are going to fight. How many of us would pick up guns if the US got invaded? (Yeah, well, I think Lord of the Rings is British history). I'd probably hook up as a medic, but it wouldn't be beyond me to pick up a gun mice elf. "Dancing in the streets";humph; people who fled Iraq because of SH are going home in the thousands to fight us.
I saw the streamer Fri nite saying we are sending another 100,000 troops over there, and I got a chill; oh, shit, it's Viet Nam. No, it won't be 7-10 years, but it will be maybe a half million soldiers, and, if Rumsfield doesn't shut his effing mouth, we are gonna be at war with everybody all at the same time, and our kids are gonna be drafted.
Now, when this thing drags on for a few more weeks, and the daily pictures go out to the entire wirld, people are gonna be really pissed a us. (Grossly understated, I'm afraid). I see an oil embargo coming here, and maybe JW's much feared bailout of foreigner holding US assets.
On the other hand, there was a very light fog hanging over the fields of wild mustard on the way home, and the turkeys were hanging out in my neighbor's meadow. It's a good day.
