Joey - Re: AMD & Stock Price

After being down earlier this morning, AMD's stock is up $1 5/16 as I write this. I have no explanation for why it is up - but I had no real idea why it has been down for the past few weeks - other than the poor Q2 earnings report and the spectre of Intel's agressive Pentium price cuts.

I still hold AMD and am still buying at good opportunities.

My idea is that AMD only has to perform "reasonably well" to make decent money. Many investors accept this and tend to buy the stock on even greater "expectations".

AMD has had their chance to damage Intel but that chance has slipped away. The market Gurus - Mark Edelstone and Drew Peck predicted $90 a share for AMD, but that isn't going to happen this year.

Now, it is pure business - manufacturing and marketing and sales. With their backs to the wall, AMD should do OK. Their survival depends on it.

And doing "OK" in this market should be easy, even for AMD.
