I agree the equity is better invested in stocks at this point. Who wants a big house anyway? Not me. Then you have to clean it. My cat likes neighbors nearby, so he can terrorize other cats.

I guess everyone got a huge equity boost in the last 3 yrs except SV and NYC then. Well, maybe the consumer is spending more than I thought. Around here its a dead zone, a lot of car dealers have closed, for one thing.

The job market has been tight for most professions (except maybe oil) in this recession, so that had to have an effect on spending. Maybe the home equity + job situation is a wash.
