Nobody really likes war. Saddam should have followed the rules imposed on him. Sadly, he did not.

If the Russians were really selling anti-tank missiles amongst other banned weapons, it is no wonder that a consensus in the security council would never be reached. I was reading a CBS piece earlier that provided proof of similar Yugoslav sales over the past couple of years. Who knows what else is on the grounds of Iraq.

I do suspect that Syria has become a safe haven for some of his best toys. Only time will tell. It will all come out in the wash.

Unfortunately, Baghdad is refusing food for oil from the UN and is determined to draw the battle into neighborhoods on international TV.

It is an ugly situation and emotions are running high on both sides of the argument. All that we can ll hope for right now is a relatively swift end to the battle.
