Dennis,
Probably the best bet for hotels around DW would be to get a AAA book and make a bunch of calls. There are literally thousands of hotels, and best prices seem to be the luck of the draw and who is having promotions. If you're AAA member, deals are better. Also, if you have an entertainment book you can often get good rates(this is also for restaurant discounts, something we hope to never see RAIN listed in!). You may want to keep an eye on your Sunday travel section for ads. Also, don't forget your frequent flier bonus miles if the airline and hotel are partners. Now if you want to stay further from the park(>1 hr), there are a lot of neat places, especially on either coast or north in the Fl wine region(?). I'll keep my eye out in our travel section this weekend. In DW you're also only about an hour from Tampa and Bern's steakhouse....an amazing place to visit...ask for a tour of the kitchen and request dessert in the dessert room...you'll be impressed. I'm not particularly excited with market prospects for the moment. With Compaq tomorrow and IBM the next day, things should be interesteing, but the general psyche of the market seems to be down even if reports are up. They'll need to be real whoppers to generate anything sustained at this point. At least the DW opening is soon, but not everything else in my portfolio has any such grand immediate potential. Maybe you should truly let your assistants help you with the toy company pick....I saw Tyco was up a 1/4 today on losses that were 1/2 as bad as the same quarter last year.....and MSFT is down because of possible later slowdowns with above expected profits?! INTC is below last week with great profits.....too rough to compete for the moment. I agree...lots of time to study for the moment and possibly pick up some reasonable prices in coming months...the question is how long will they stay there for? Like you say, go IBM!
Have a relaxing stress-free evening,
