"The five POWs have been paraded on Iraqi television in a sickening violation of the Geneva Conventions on war."

What nonsense. If I was held captive by the Iraqis damn right I wouldn't mind being paraded on TV. These prisoners are now known to be alive and in reasonably decent shape. Much easier to abuse and execute a soldier only known to be "missing in action".

The propaganda battle rages on. American bombs are good and Iraqi bombs are bad although each are capable of inflicting pain and misery. The real reason people like Rumsfeld hate to see such things on TV is that it falls short of "the ideal TV minute".

Tommy Franks says the car bomb yesterday was "terrorism". I suppose dropping a JDAM on Bahgdad from 30,000 ft doesn't induce any terror for the poor saps who live there. Just a nice clean way to kill and maim - but don't show it on TV!

Don't show the pain and don't show the misery because if you do people will realize war sucks.
