Royal Commission warns against Israel's plan to move Jerusalem wall

AMMAN (Petra)
- The Royal Commission on Jerusalem Affairs warned Thursday of plans being examined by the Israeli government to move the wall separating East Jerusalem backward 20km into the Palestinian territories.

The commission stressed that such an action contravenes plans by the US administration and the British government regarding the establishment of a Palestinian state and implementation of the roadmap.

In a statement, the commission said the transfer of the wall reveals Israel's persistent challenge of international resolutions, warning that such an action would change the demographic, religious, cultural and historic nature of the Palestinian lands including Jerusalem.

The commission called on the world community, Arab leaders and Muslims to intervene and stop such an act, which would drive the region into an endless conflict.
