Fengfan Group, located at the Baoding National New Hi-tech Area, Hebei Province signed an agreement on a lithium polymer project with US Valence on Feb. 18, 2003.

Fengfan Group is at the moment the largest scaled and most powerful enterprise in storage cells sector in China, while US Valence is a listed company on Nasdaq in the USA, also a leading enterprise in the development and industrialization of lithium polymer storage batteries worldwide and the company has kept hold of 807 pieces of patented technologies, meanwhile it has production plants located in Irish, with its headquarters in the USA.

The joint venture project will be pumped with a total investment of US$30 million, with US side taking up 51%, the Chinese side, 49%. The project now started making a requisition of land for construction in Baoding National New Hi-tech Area in Hebei Province and is projected to put into formal operation in 2004, with a yearly capacity of 100 million Watt/h, of which 50% is for export.

The project is designed to produce notebook computer-use storage cells as its typical products, others will include something about portable green energy sources associated and used for electric-powered bicycles, cameras, electronic instruments and meters and so forth. The whole process flow would be entirely of green environmental protection. The lithium polymer storage cells feature high performance, low cost, safety and folding.
