I appreciate your and michaels comments. JB was just doing the pouty thing I imagine.

Realistically for both of us (Can+US) a 3000 mile shared border had better make us pay attention and care about each others thoughts.

Canadas decision not to participate falls in line with ? 40 % of Americans sentiments I believe. It is ok to ostracize France but should that type of situation be allowed to foment here because of deteriorating relations then we are both in deep doodoo.

In my mind, it does not make sense to be out attempting to repair world wide deterioration and foster more bad feeling on ones doorstep through horrendous Foreign Policy. IMO that is where this US administration has failed and continues to fail.

I personally would not choose to be forced to snuggle up to China or the EU but if the door continues to close with the US, we will definitely need lovin from somewhere.

A final point if I may. If the US Canada relationship is dependant on Canada having to succumb to the whims of the US on all its FP dictates then our mutual relationship will further collapse. Bad stuff.

We must have the right to exercise our own judgement on issues.
