Iran has already gone through most of its growing pains. I think the neocon plan is to crush that Iranian middle class before they can make a really viable country. The Iranian nuclear threat is being left alone (as is the one in North Korea) in order to provide a pretext for the next invasion. The neocon gameplan has always been to burn bridges behind them to prevent retreat on any issue or any conflict. Saudi Arabia and Kuwait are not nearly as close to that kind of transition and may ultimately surrender to puppethood without a battle. I think the ultimate battle will be with Turkey, a few years away.
