It all depends on how Iraq turns out. They will eventually be able to occupy Iraq, but at what cost will that be achieved? And what continuing costs will have to be incurred? Those are the questions.

Iran might well go nuclear within a few years. Once it does so, the chances of a US invasion will come down. If the US invades Iran even with a shaky footing in Iraq, it can be a disaster.

WHichever way one looks at it, this is turning out to be such a total fiasco. Amazing that a handful of people can make these things happen, even in a democracy.
