Steve what I quoted earlier was Soundview's remarks on Amati which were published through First Call.

But yes, your summary is how I read it as well. They are sort of saying: let's not focus on Amati's business, but rather the industry, and the industry consolidation and hope something would rub off on Amati. But they are running out of suitors for Amati. Oh, the next one to be spread (I am sure through this thread) would be Intel. That should keep the stock up for a few months until some other hype is dreamed up.

Oh, by the way, I do believe Intel eventually would put ADSL on the mother board and get it over with, but I seriously doubt they will have to buy Amati to do that.
