I love the description of France and its differences with Germany: Think of France as a kid who loves and knows basketball -- how to dribble, shoot and make plays as well as anybody in the world -- but who stopped growing at 5 feet, 5 inches. In fact I'd say that kid did not just stop growing, he stopped growing up. France will be the undoing of EU, just as I believe Bush & Co. are the undoing of America. It is interesting to note that in the months prior to EU and for some time after that, most Europeans believed in EU under the banner of Germany and did not care much for France. It was the Germans who realized EU would not happen without granting a bigger role to France and gave it to them, while most of Europe thought, "we don't give a damn how France feels about it. They'd better realize their the same as everyone else". ST
