Several senior war planners complained to me in interviews Come on, John. You are letting your dislike of this admin overload your good sense. As I posted the other day, the senior Princes in the Pentagon are using the normal "friction" of war to try to take down Rummy. These guys idea of "Combat" is leaks from behind their Pentagon Desk. Rummy is trying to change the Army's outlook and personnel policies. The Army does not want them changed. They were able to "Rain Dance" Clinton's Sec Def, but they can't get away with it with Rummy. Bush trusts Rummy, not the Generals.
