The question about the time is a very fundamental question.

Any time you convince someone to undertake a project and vocally and repeatedly convince someone as to the benefits of the revenue streams, it’s very appropriate to outline the costs.

The blame on the news media is that they played along and never pushed for an answer before the war started.

The question could have been easily directed to several parties who had been on the media pushing for the benefits of the war on the administration side. At that time it was simply fair to ask what was the costs that we were willing to undertake this venture or the range they were expecting.

You don’t lose anything strategically, that is nonsense. As for example we could have said up front that we will do it at all costs, however long it takes.

Making this statement when we are in the war, is meaningless from an accountability point of view, since now you are in war. Can’t turn back now.

I am not convinced if the statement would have been made before the war started, the constitutional powers under the WPA 1973 would not have been shifted so easily by the legislative body without much debate.
