Frankly, I agree with David on this. There is no way one would expect Rumfeld, or any general to be able to micromanage this down to individual soldiers. Rumsfald and the generals first of all deal with divisions, or at the minimum battalian sizes. Below that, what happens within a battalian would be up to that battalians supply chiefs. To say Rummy is incompetant because some soldier didn't get his two meals is ridiculous.

It wasn't one or two or three....those are the ones who got interviewed. Whole battalions were short of food and water. It seems to me if you want your army to fight, you micromanage the food and water to make sure they have enough of both. Desert temps are hitting 100; without water, heat prostration becomes a serious problem very quickly.
