Whole battalions were short of food and water. It seems to me if you want your army to fight

This is not consistent with the news reports I've heard.

Sorry, that was a typo........whole platoons, not battalions.

you micromanage the food and water to make sure they have enough of both

A competent White House/DOS is not going to micromanage ANYTHING. The White House's micromanagement of military affairs is what brought us Black Hawk Down.

How the fukk do you know? You're a CPA from Little Rock, not General Bigshot!

The military is much too large for anyone to micromangage it. Rumsfeld has to be able to delegate tens, maybe hundreds, of levels down an organization chart.

You make sure you men have food and water.......its so basic I can't believe we're arguing the issue. Some more of your absurd need to defend ole Rummy.

I suspect no significant ground war has ever been conducted where minor materiel shortages weren't a problem at times. However, I've heard nothing about shortages in the last several days; I can envision that shortages might have been a problem during the sand storm, which is totally understandable.

I told you.....they interviewed soldiers on the tube. It was in regards to the supply line.......there were shortages. They were not serious shortages but there was some concern.

Basically, I think your argument sucks. As of this today, I haven't heard any military person refer to the current war plan as anything other than brilliant.

Who was that? Generals Rumsfield, Cheney and Bush I suspect. Even on FOX complaints have been voiced.......what do you do....mute the tube so you can't hear them? You're as bad as Arnett the other way. He talks about the war plan being a total failure while you talk about it being a total success. Amazing!
