“On four thousand Arab volunteers”!
Tariq Aziz and Taha Yasin Ramadan, members of the cabal ruling Iraq in absence of Saddam, declared that “4000 Arab suicide bombers have reached Baghdad”. Now first of all the road from Amman to Baghdad is closed and very little traffic is plying that road. Also the Damascus-Baghdad road is practically closed and so all these people must have come through an aerial route as opposed to a road route.
It is a very nice propaganda because the atrocities of suicide bombing is well known in the Middle East and as such it has attracted a lot of attention and concern and it is a good propaganda coup by the Iraqi cabal.
I believe it has no merit and that the entire thing reeks, it is a huge bravado. It has no merit and there are no 4000 suicide bombers out there. Suicide bombers may come from here and there within Iraqi fedyaheens but the fact of the matter that 200mn dinar, which was paid to the family of the first suicide bomber was not a small sum. Consider the endemic poverty of Iraq there will be many volunteers for far less and moreover one cannot deny that people who have everything to lose will not shirk from losing their live. Saddam coterie have everything to lose so there will be a few people who will take the last stand and will be eliminated however why should Tariq Aziz look across for 4000 Arabs when there are 25 mn Iraqis who are ready to support the cause. I think on scale of facts this whole idea about 4000 Arabs coming to Baghdad is a lie of the highest order.
I was flipping through CNN, Fox and other American media outlet. I was surprised by the analysts who took these comments seriously and that is something strange. I think that the transportation links are absent for that kind of transfer within 72 hours of that statement and nor can Hezboullah, seeing what is happening to predominantly Shi’ite Basra or Zubair or Umm Qasra, would like their volunteers to blow their own Shi’ite brothers. These suicide bombers will not be taking the life of “infidels” they’ll be taking the life of their own people because all of this suicide bombing will be happening in Baghdad or Iraq. Bombings will happen and this cannot be discounted however Hezb will be less enthusiastic to take such a criminal course of action since Hezb and south of Iraq are Arab-speaking Shi’ites and that common bond of language, ideology & religion is a rarity. In my opinion this whole statement is an effort to create an air of uncertainty around the fall of Baghdad like seen last night the intrusion of the Desert Rats into Basra. The intrusions and forays into Baghdad will be of equal intensity and so the possibilities are that these statements are nothing but braccados of a dying regime.
The 20,000 Tirkritis and Fedyaheen have shown that their desperations induces a frenzy to engage the American troops, something I did not expect. They have shown their lust for human blood and that will not go away. There is going to be incidents, where an odd Lebanese or Palestinian may detonate themselves after the liberation of Baghdad however the whole statement represents the bankruptcy of the human mind and the typical lack of respect. If suicide bombing is such a boon and the life of other people’s sons is to be toyed with in such a manner then Tariq Aziz should not mind to Qusay and Uday at the top of the list of volunteers. It’s an irony that two of the bluest of the bloods of Saddam Hussein, if alive, are rumored to be looking for a palatial home outside Baghdad.
