TAMPA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 30, 1997--Seahawk Deep Ocean
Technology, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: SDOT.O), the Tampa-based
oceanographic company that specializes in the search and recovery of
deep water shipwrecks, announced today that it has appointed James
Robert (Bob) Shaw as a director of the company. Bob Shaw is the
president and CEO of Classic Restaurants International, Inc., a
publicly traded company based in Atlanta, GA that acquires and
develops restaurants and entertainment sites.
John Lawrence, president and CEO of Seahawk, said, "We are
delighted that Bob Shaw has agreed to join our board. He brings to
Seahawk his extensive experience operating publicly traded companies,
and his investment banking and broker/dealer background will greatly
enhance our ability to raise capital to help achieve our objectives."

company. There is a natural synergy in combining the shipwreck and
treasure attraction opportunities that are part of Seahawk's

Seahawk has searched for and found a number of shipwrecks since
it was formed in 1989. The Company is currently searching for a
shipwreck off the east coast of the U.S., and is involved in a
variety of shipwreck projects around the world. Seahawk is a member
of a consortium in South America which has a permit to search for a
valuable shipwreck in waters off Brazil and the company is seeking a
permit to search the waters off an island in the Azores which,
according to the company's research, contain a quantity of ancient
and colonial shipwrecks.
