Hi Fredman; Re: "My concern is we are going to get suckered into something, then they will detonate something that will kill everything in a 30 mile radius... it IS possible, and they ARE capable, and they do not mind killing their own, as you pointed out, 'to make a point'."

Your nightmares are not real. If the Iraqis had any WMDs, they'd have used them already. Nor have our troops found any. That they have not used any is as good of proof that they don't exist (at least in large numbers as opposed to lost scraps of materiel from the Iran war). I mean for Christ's sake, our troops are having everything but the kitchen sink thrown at them, but still no WMDs.

The press was making a big deal out of the fact that the Iraqis keep gas suits around, as these would be worn by troops attacking using gas. This is total complete bullshit. Every army on this planet of 130 states has CBW suits around. The Iranians are the big enemy of the Iraqis, and they have nerve gas, so it is completely natural that the Iraqis have suits to protect from nerve gas.

The whole WMD scare was put onto you by a naive administration that half believed it itself, but the main objective was to score an easy military victory over the "pita eating surrender monkeys", turn Iraq into a Democratic power house in the Middle East, and thereby improve the course of the world.

In short, the road to hell was paved with good intentions.
