Scholarships on local level (we give a $2000 Education scholarship to local kids going to college), State level...have several, including a MAJOR amount of money we were willed to give to Women OBGYN medical students going to a specific Med school here in the state, and of course, many nationally~~~~
Also, help the Vets with parties, gifts, etc;
have Essay History Contests for the 5,6, 7, and8th grades with local dollar prizes and certificates, and they can go on to National where they could win $1000 for their Essay....;
sponsor an American History teacher at every level --these folks are REALLY good if they win...and are a true credit to their profession...
Conservation projects all over the place;
research and place special Historical markers, and restore landmarks which are becoming somewhat seedy...;
we have an Indian kids school in our sister State that we bring things to, as well as help support with money..;
own and maintain the largest buildings owned by women in the US, including our jewel of a Museum, and one of the finest genealogical Libraries in the world; sponsor 6 schools in the Southern US and a couple in the NE for disadvantaged kids (not troublemakers),
Earn money via various ways and means projects so we can contribute to local charities.. (our latest one is helping a group buy baby clothes, and foods for little ones whose Mom is needing help);
Provide Citizenship manuals free for immigrants who come here and want to become citizens; give them US flags when they do become citizens....
and all sorts of other things...
