Answer: Yes.
These neocons have several chapters, some who profit financially, others emotionally. I visited some Jewish friends over the weekend, one of whom had been an advance man for Bush Senior, and is married to an Israeli. I was the only non-Jew, the only one who had been to Israel right after the '67 war, and the only one who was against the Iraqi invasion, and I said, "we're going to be just like Israel, surrounded by enemies, with constant terrorism".
Everyone nodded their heads, and were quiet for a moment as the truth began to dawn. Two truths: one, there are Americans like me who will fight to the death to defend family and country, but will not fight to defend Saudi Arabia or Israel. And the second truth: the US is indeed being hijacked into the blood feuds of the Middle East, in the interests of non-Americans.
Our neocons have poked their noses into feuds elsewhere, and created them, but this is different. This time, terrorism serves the interests of the political and business combine, who have hijacked the gov't and declared war on the American people and the rest of the world.
We will have terrorism as long as Bush & Co. are in office, since their political and financial profit coincides with increasing terror. We are seeing the ramp-up to WWIII, global militarism, $1/2 trillion DOD budget, further concentration of wealth, and it's consequences.
The economic one is a drastic drop in the productive and creative energies of our contry, as it's tied up serving the whims of the neocons in control, and millions of hours a week lost by our otherwise inventive minds horrified watching the tv set as it spouts blood and propaganda.
Look closely at who makes money on this conversion of America from a commercial into a military empire -- it won't be J6P, the professionals, or even the small business owner. It is the elite insiders, the chickenhawks getting rich from sending others to their deaths, is the ugly conclusion. |
