America believes in being the melting pot. Canada is the mosaic.

That's an intesting phrase. How does that translate...Does that suggest that Americans are more inclined to want some level of cultural conformity while Canadians are more accepting [or aware] of the cultural differences.

As a friend of mine put it, "You have the right to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness in America. But in Canada good government is your birthright".

My wife did some work in conjunction with the Canadian government for a period of time. Every meeting she came back from, she commented on how "efficient" they were and their ability to accomplish things with minimal beaurocracy.
