Amy, RE: Sr Bush actually said on CSPAN that women should stay at home with their children.

I have never heard this. Did you personally listen to it, or did someone else inform you what he said? Do you have a link that talks about it? That seems highly out of character for him.

Interestingly enough, Jr Bush wants to repeal the family medical act law - meaning, women cannot even take time off from work without pay.

Not exactly true.

Bush fils wants to repeal a law requiring companies to allow women to take time off from work without pay. Companies will still be free to have that policy if it fits their needs.

And, when you think about it, if a company has a policy like that, talented women will probably tend to work at that company. And, with greater talent, that company will be much more likely to succeed. Companies with more restrictive, intolerant attitudes toward women will not succeed.

Let the free market work. It will solve problems in a lot more efficient manner without government in the way.
