Not really. Especially around here, you are far more "isolated" than Doug. Especially with all that religious dogma talk re "true evil" et cetera ad nauseam.
Some of us don't need religious double-talk for morality.
Most people I know over the age of 10 know there ain't no such thing as "good" and "evil" except in children's books (and now in American foreign policy rhetoric) - there are situations you find yourself into, and you make choices, some of them very difficult and painful and perhaps even unacceptable by society, to protect your loved ones, depending on your options, and your values. You make your choices, you face the consequences. None of it means you are "truely evil" or "truely good".
You could argue Saddam is psychotic, irrational, sadist, dangerous, etc and I would find that conversation interesting.
However, if all you have to say is "he is evil", excuse us as we laugh at your "true evil" dogma :-) |
