Upgrade of turbine unit at AO MOSENERGO’s TEZ-22
In March, AO MOSENERGO started to prepare for heating season of 2003–2004. One of the priority tasks of this repair campaign is the upgrade of the turbine unit at TEZ-22. The upgrade will help to increase the power station's productivity during the winter-autumn peak load and help to ensure the high reliability of the station.
During the upgrade, the obsolete turbine and generator at power unit no. 8, which have exhausted their capacities, will be replaced by modern high-tech equipment. The auxiliary equipment at the power unit will also be replaced.
As a result, the turbine productivity will grow 10%, from 100 MWt to 110MWt. The fuel consumption of the equivalent fuel will decrease by 5%. By saving the fuel the company will considerably alleviate the environmental impact due to lower pollution and carbon dioxide emission levels. The upgrade of the power unit and auxiliary equipment will also increase the efficiency of the power unit and electricity production rates.
The turbine upgrade will take place from March to December of 2003. The estimated project expenditures amount to 30.5 million rubles.
In total, AO MOSENERGO plans to repair 19 turbines during this season. Eight more turbines will undergo a complex check, which will allow the company to detect and eliminate minor failures.
In addition to turbine repairs in 2003 AO MOSENERGO aims to repair 6 power units, 24 boilers, 13 water heaters and check the reliability of 9 power units, 14 boilers and 2 water heaters. |
