Terra Nova Acquires Maverick Trading Brokerage Business

Online Brokerage Firm Continues to Grow Through Acquisitions
CHICAGO, March 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Terra Nova Trading, L.L.C., member NASD, NFA, SIPC & PCX, announced the acquisition of the brokerage business of Maverick Trading, an online trading firm based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Terra Nova is one of the nation's largest online brokerage firms for highly active traders. Terms for the recent acquisition were not disclosed.
This move echoes the continuation of Terra Nova's aggressive growth strategy, and is the seventh brokerage acquisition for the Chicago firm in the past three years. "Terra Nova continues to expand by remaining focused on one basic principle: to help traders make better decisions and react quicker to the market," said Terra Nova senior vice president David Lipsett. "We are uniquely equipped to provide Maverick's active traders with the tools and support they need for success including educational opportunities offered through our alliance with MarketWise Trading School."
Maverick Trading began online trading services in 1988, offering executions and investing services through Townsend Analytics, Ltd.'s RealTick® direct-access trading platform.
