If so, can't say that I blame then. I don't remember enough about the immediate post Revolutionary War period except that the history courses I've taken seem to have pretty much skimmed over the period outside of a passing mention of Shay's Rebellion. Loyalty oaths, especially coerced, are not my idea of freedom. But they do seem to be a recurring fad.
