Excuse my bluntness, but nonsense.

It has nothing to do with whether or not we view them as human.

I think most of our young men and women in uniform are well aware that the people they are fighting are human. they have mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, also.

They have also chosen to serve a tyrannical and brutal regime which, whether you agree with the decision or not, our leaders have chosen to overthrow. But that doesn't make them non-human. Just wrong and in many cases quite evil.

Absolutely, I would rather see 100 of them dead than 1 US marine dead. But in no way does that equate to not considering them human.
