If U.S. forces run into trouble as they close in on Baghdad, there are scant units in reserve to rescue them. Rescue them from what? This isn't a few rangers in a Black Hawk down scenario, its divisions backed by tremendous air power. Meanwhile a lot of the IRaqi strength is dispersed into small groups, suited to hide or harrass but not overrun large US formations. The Republican guard divisions around Baghdad don't have the ability to really take it to the American forces, at worst they can fight to the bitter end but you won't see our lines getting pushed back or any large unit getting outflanked or cut off.
