Hi John, I am disabled by what I believe to be iPaq transmitted software bug. My desktop and laptop are both down. I hate Windows 98 ME, and so after reloading 4 times in 5 days, have given up. Will shop for and load Windows XP.
  I sent JW a PM.
  In the meantime,
  a) HK economy tepid, good restaurants serving food at huge discount from previous high prices (b) USD, HKD, Yen bank deposits all paying 0% interest rate (c) EURO, AUD, CAD bank deposits all paying insulting interest rates (d) Stock markets forgives no one who goes long or short on the market (e) War and SARS sinking Asian airlines, hotels, HK retail, restaurants (f) Stanley (normally touristy neighborhood 15 min walk from my home) is very quiet on the week days and now, on the weekends (g) Easter holidays cancelled by most, since air travel is no longer in fashion (h) One client and his family left town for a few weeks (i) Two sets of friends left town until 'all clear' (j) Disinformation and war rumors whiplashing financial allocation positions in non-USD currencies, paper gold, resource shares, and now, China shares, weakening my resolve with 'shock and awe' (k) Entirety of a residential block in Kowloon (Amoy Gardens) evacuated and quarrantined in Lei Yu Men recreation zone (l) I have been trying to fix my desktop and laptop computers (fix former, replace latter, load with Windows XP). A major accident happened, sinking my desktop/laptop, with transmission mechanism being my palmtop. I still do not understand what happened, but have had to reload my original Windows 98 ME system 4 times in the past 5 days. Yes, I am not happy with Microsoft. (m) I was nearly on two flights that had folks infected, but luckily, I started wearing mask on Day #1, washing hands diligently, and did not touch food or water in business class (n) I now go around wearing 3M N95 mask with exhale nose piece. I drew a happy face on the outside (m) I am sure there is more that is not right, but I forgot what they might be.
Whatelse can go wrong? Oops, I said the magic sentence. I think I sense an earthquake happening and hear a volcano ready to blow;0)
