Where did I talk about justification for the war? I was talking about double standards in some media.

I certainly didn't mean to imply that I think we should attack, defeat and occupy every country that abuses their citizens. What I think is that we have the right to defend our national security and that is what I think we are doing in Iraq. I guess you don't. We have different views on national security it seems to me.

Our role in the world is one that has been forced upon us by the events of the last century. We didn't begin the 20th century as the strongest country in the world but that's how it ended up. We are strong because we need to be because there are extreme dangers that exist in spite of the United Nations best efforts and hopes that they will go away. When they don't, we have no one left to turn to but ourselves and that's what we do. It's not imposing democracy nor arrogance of power but self preservation that drives our current position in the world. Try to consider that.
