The first time it appeared that we had a done deal, the Kurds started screaming bloody blue murder, and it appears that the Bush administration backtracked, and the deal fell apart

CB, my understanding is that we had already promised the Kurds that under no circumstances would we permit Turks to enter.

Then we were going to ... hence, their bloody blue murder.

For one, I can't blame them .... if we weren't speaking with one clear voice, we should have been.
