Situation in Iraq -

I think CNN, BBC, Debka and Venik are ALL true, but all pieces.

I try to focus on where the forces are - On TV there are just deliberately broad arrows and simplified maps.

Bypassing the most cities is standard US doctrine, like MacArthur's island hopping strategy. There are some cities that can't be bypassed, or are close to supply roputes (Nasiriya, Najaf) Fighting in towns still going on, British forces seem to be tied up wtih Basra, but building good better relations with locals.

What's missing -

Little reporting on 101 st Airbourne - maybe long sweep to left ?

Not much on Western Iraq toward Jordan, other than H2 and H3 airfield taking by special forces a weeks ago.

Information on the North seems to be limited. Are tanks and/or APC being airlifted in ?

Headline in Drudge Report has coalition forces 19 miles from Baghdad.

*********

What will happen once Saddam , Quasy and Uday are dead ?
I think that some Iraqis (especially Kurds & Shias) will attack individual Baath party members, Fedayeen, etc. on a revenge basis.
