Last time I checked, the US investigators had concluded that the Egyptair 990 crash was deliberate on the part of the first relief officer, but the Egyptian government did not agree. Read it all the way through. No evidence of mechanical failure. Due to the actions of the first relief officer, which cannot be explained. During the events, he repeated, "I rely on God," while the pilot tried to stop him, shouting, "what's happening, what's happening?"

Terrorism, suicide, insanity, call it what you will. Could be he had a bad day and decided to take everybody with him.
