one more thing: you have of course a point about the 'conditioning' , i.e. the way recent market moves have been the result of self-fulfilling prophesies. it is also true that the war is a welcome distraction from the sorry state of the economy and the CB's even sorrier reaction to it. but that still doesn't change the fact that the resulting moves can only be a temporary phenomenon. no-one can cheat the market for an extended period, and if it DOES happen, the eventual counter-reaction will be all the more pronounced ( see the London gold pool for proof ) . instead of worrying about market manipulation you should be laughing at it, since it will never work.
