That's how the jig saw puzzle fits for me.

Off the top of my head, these are some of the reasons:

1. To my knowledge, no official inquiry has been held despite numerous requests to hold one especially by the relatives of the victims

2. Numerous reasons why the official version doesn't fit with the facts. Here are some references from my bookmarks
indymedia.no
Also the links near the bottom of the page.

keystonereport.com

3. The advantage for the incident(s) has fallen only to the hawks in the US administration. 911 has, in fact, been the key that has opened the door to Afghanistan and Iraq and wherever else.

4. All the disadvantage has fallen to the Muslims/Arabs.

5. bin Laden has not been found, and it's unlikely he will ever be

6. Despite discovering all kinds of material in US and Afghanistan associated with Al Qaeda, nothing incriminating that organization with 911 has ever been found. In fact, the association between Al Qaeda and the 911 "attacks" was disclosed publicly, complete with pictures of the alleged terrorists etc, by FBI Head Mueller within hours of it happening and without any investigation.

7. There is no association between Al Qaeda and Iraq, but the "terrorist" link enabled the hawks to legitimize the attack on Iraq (as they see it).

I think that's enough to show you something of the body of opinion contrary to that of the US government which has built up since 11 Sept 2001 and which supports my view that either people in the US government were involved directly or that they knew about and, for the circumstantial reason which I suggest, did nothing about it.
