Schroeder's peace tactics were 'crazy'

Schröder committed errors, yes - but I would put most of the blame on Saddam and his bad judgment, according to this quote from the article itself:

Iraqi concessions, inspectors report, were no longer in any relation to the American pressure. Iraq underestimated the resolve of the superpower.

Why it's currently more fashionable to bash allies instead of Saddam is beyond me.
