Poor AS, she is so woefully mistaken. Veterans will NEVER vote for Kerry, not even the liberal ones. I havent wanted to say this as I respect the medals, but here is the FACTS. Before I say this, I ask ANY combat veteran who is on this thread to dispute my claim or support it. You will not hurt my feelings if you disagree.
OK, here goes, other then the purple heart, most medals are either the LUCK OF THE DRAW or having proper INFLUENCE and RANK HELPS.
To get those medals your commanding officer must WRITE A LETTER and RECOMMEND you. Its really a PIA usually under the situation and most enlisted men have no real appreciation of the award AT THE TIME, cause I tell you this, for every man/woman who gets a medal there are a THOUSAND who deserve it more and dont cause either no one saw the deed, or noone with INFLUENCE saw the deed or noone felt like writing the damn letter. Now, I can just PICTURE Kerry buttering up his superiors to see that they WROTE HIS LETTER. This is not meant to take anything away from those with medals, I got some myself, I am just saying Veterans will not have the AWE that poor AS has over this. jdn |
